November 2025 — Over the past two weeks, the global technology industry has been gripped by a wave of announcements that highlight one of the year’s most defining trends: the race to build artificial intelligence infrastructure. From Silicon Valley to Bangalore, from Frankfurt to Singapore, governments and corporations are committing billions of dollars to data centers, semiconductor plants, and cloud ecosystems designed to power the next generation of AI.

The 7th Capital Market and Media Festival was held today, coinciding with Capital Market Week, at the amphitheater hall of the Securities and Exchange Organization. A memorandum of understanding aimed at developing joint cooperation in domestic, regional, and international markets was signed on the sidelines of the 22nd International Metallurgy Exhibition between Mobarakeh Steel Engineering Company and the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Commercial Company.

A member of the Board of Directors of Central Bafgh Alloy Steel announced plans for the first melt and the launch of the first phase of this major project within the next 18 months, saying that the plan, which will create employment for 530 people directly and 5,000 indirectly, is targeting the markets of Europe and Central Asia.

The Purchasing Deputy of Khouzestan Steel said: “A thirtyfold increase in energy carrier prices and the excessive export of concentrate will create a serious challenge for production.”

Khouzestan Steel aims to capture regional markets with its three-pillar strategy.

The 1,500-unit Faraja project was completed in just 190 days using steel structures. This project, fully designed and executed by Iranian engineers, is considered a new model in the country’s construction industry due to its 70 percent reduction in water consumption and its smart systems.

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, accompanied by Reza Masrour, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade and Special Economic Zones, and the Governor of East Azerbaijan Province, will travel to the Aras Free Trade Zone on Wednesday evening, 28 Aban, with the aim of conducting field visits, inaugurating several development and production projects, and participating in a meeting with economic stakeholders.

While analysts are largely focused on the political and military implications of the upcoming meeting between Mohammed bin Salman and Donald Trump in Washington, Riyadh’s moves in “mining diplomacy” may signal the beginning of a new chapter in the global race for critical minerals—an arena that now influences everything from energy security to the strategic calculus of major powers, and one that directly affects the future of regional mining companies, including those in Iran
